Although some aspects of the work may feel familiar to those who've seen her artwork before\, Heggestad says she is exploring new territory in this recent series: violence.\n\n\n\nInstead of the usual sort of gallery reception\, the artist reached out to local writers and poets to ask if they might want to participate in exploring this theme during an evening of readings. A large number of them responded enthusiastically\, and will join together on Saturday\, January 20th at 7 pm to share some of their work\, as well as the writings of notable writers addressing the topic.
