SUMMARY:Big Pink Volleyball Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Big Pink Volleyball is a fast & furious game of volleyball\, played in a 6v6 best of 3\, 5 minute game single elimination tournament. The player fee is $5\, paid in cash/check on-site\, and additional donations will be taken at the front desk of the Wellness Center through the month of October. This event is open to the public\, and winners will receive an intramural champion t-shirt.\n\nAll proceeds made from the event will be donated towards Carmen's Cove\, an initiative to create an outdoor classroom at the USD Vucurevich Children's Center. Carmen's Cove is dedicated to Carmen Stewart\, longtime Director of Head Start at USD who passed away in June of 2024. Carmen was involved with Head Start at USD for 30 years\, and a lifelong advocate of early childhood education in South Dakota. Throughout her career\, she was recognized as the recipient of various awards\, including the Clay County Child Advocacy Award in 2022\, and the Susan Smith Award in 2023.
