DESCRIPTION:Celebrate two important anniversaries with an evening hike at Spirit Mound Historic Prairie! Join Friends of the Missouri National Recreational River at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday\, August 25\, as we mark the 222nd anniversary of Lewis and Clark's historic hike up Spirit Mound and celebrate the National Park Service's 110th birthday. During this approximately 1.5-mile round-trip hike\, we'll explore the mound's rich history\, unique geology\, native prairie\, birds\, and other wildlife. The hike is considered moderate and includes a gradual climb to the summit. After the hike\, enjoy a cupcake in honor of the National Park Service's birthday.
