SUMMARY:Thursday on the Platz - Summer 2020
DESCRIPTION:EVENT: Vermillion's beloved annual concert series\, Thursdays on the Platz\, is returning this July. A summer favorite\, Thursdays on the Platz\, held in historic downtown Vermillion\, will continue to bring free\, live music on the National Music Museum stage. This event is open to everyone and takes place every Thursday from July 9 through August 27 from 5:30 pm   7:30 pm.\n\n \n\nCOVID - 19: 2020 will see some changes with the event now taking place from Ratingen Platz and down Main Street to Court Street to allow for social distancing measures. Attendees can rest assured knowing thorough cleaning protocols will be implemented and volunteers/staff will be wearing masks to provide a safe space for the community to enjoy the festivities.  All attendees are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing. \n\nDue to the difficulty of fully disinfecting materials\, seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own portable chairs.  \n\n \nSPONSORS: August 6 is an especially exciting night for Thursday on the Platz!  With the help of the National Music Museum and MidAmerican Energy\, we are dedicating this night to Vermillion's First Responders indcluding the Vermillion Police Department and Vermillion Fire / EMS.  Emergency Equipment will be on display for the kids to see up close and enjoy.\n\n\n\nENTERTAINMENT:  Music will be provided by Eric Beringer Acoustic.  You can check him out here: https://www.facebook.com/Beringermusic.   For the kids\, the Vermillion Area Dance Organization will be offering a live dance class.  All ages and skill levels are welcome.  \n\n\n\nAn additional highlight will be a ribbon cutting at 8 W. Main St. to welcome Indigo Spa and Calm Therapeutic Massage as members of the Vermillion business community. The ceremony begins at 5:30pm.  Light refreshments will be served.  Come join and help us welcome these new businesses.  \nFOOD and BEVERAGE: Thursday on the Platz with the help of Dakota Brick House has partnered with Conkling Distributing to bring in a great variety of breweries to quench your thirst on hot summer days.  \n\nWe are encouraging all attendees to visit local restaurants\, grab some food to go\, and bring it down to the concert area to enjoy along with the live music and refreshing\, tasty brews.
