Celebrate Independence Day in Vermillion with a full day of community fun, local flavor and patriotic tradition! In honor of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, this year’s celebration is bigger than ever — with activities happening throughout the day and the annual community fireworks show to close out the night.
Schedule of events:
- 8:30 a.m.: Founding Fathers 5K Run & Walk
- Early registration open until June 29. Register now.
- On-site registration will be available with limited t-shirt sizing.
- 9 a.m. - Noon: Vermillion Farmers Market
- 10 a.m.: Red, White & Roll: Patriotic Walk
- 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Food Vendors, Live Music & Performances, Games, Giveaways and More!
- 2:45 p.m.: Hy-Vee Hot Dog Eating Contest
- 1-5 p.m.: Free Swim at Prentis Plunge
- Dusk: Community Fireworks at Polaris Parkway
