Liberty Tree Plaque Unveiling

The City of Vermillion will celebrate the planting of the Liberty Tree and plaque unveiling near the southwest corner of Prentis Park on Wednesday, June 3 at noon. 

The Princeton American Elm tree is recognized as a Liberty Tree, honoring the original 17th-century Boston Elm that served as a rallying point for American colonists protesting British rule. As part of the nation's 250th anniversary, communities are planting Liberty Trees, a living legacy of American tradition.
