Description
South Dakota elected officials, tribal members, educators and invited guests will commemorate the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence, originally held on July 8, 1776. The event is part of a nationwide initiative inviting communities to simultaneously read the document as part of the America 250 celebration. SDPB will broadcast the reading live on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 5 PM.
