General Job Description

Responsible for the assembly and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems.  Testing and verification of hydraulic systems down into the component level. The Hydraulic Assembly Technician will work closely with the Hydraulic System Design Engineer and production floor assembly of Masaba, Inc. to provide complete hydraulic system support.  This fast-paced environment affords employees a challenging environment to grow and to expand their experience and skill sets in the discipline of designing and troubleshooting hydraulics.

Essential Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and comprehend hydraulic schematics.
  • Read and understand manufacturing and assembly instructions for fabrication of hydraulic systems.
  • Assemble and modify hydraulic products and systems to interface with machines and equipment.
  • Provides hydraulic technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and startup.
  • Perform, record, and report operational tests for verification of proper performance.
  • Wire, assemble, and operate hydraulic systems using jib crane and test stands.
  • Proper hose assembly and routing practices.
  • Organize, cleaning, and maintenance of hydraulic testing equipment and area.
  • Collaborate with and support internal departments with technical information.
  • Work collectively with Engineering and Production to manage materials and components for projects.
  • Comply with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements:
This position is typically in a manufacturing setting and requires standing for long periods of time.  Requires good hand-eye coordinator, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.  Ability to manipulate (carry, lift, move) objects weighing up to 50 pounds.  The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Operation jib crane
  • Hydraulic plumbing and fitting identification
  • Communication and experience with fluid power terminology
  • Have experience in an assembly role, preferably in mobile equipment
  • Understanding of fluid mechanics, hydraulic systems, and practical knowledge of hydraulic components
  • Have a sound understanding of hydraulic and mechanical principles
  • Ability to work with hands, hand tools and/or machine tools.
Language Skills
Strong writing and verbal communication skills required. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical schematics, and work instructions. 
Reasoning Ability
Excellent prioritization and project development skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and 3D viewer software.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma / Technical Degree in Fluid Power
  • 2+ years’ of related hydraulic experience and/or training preferred.
