Volunteer Coordinator

The volunteer coordinator will oversee all aspects of Sharing the Dream volunteer’s activities.  As a volunteer-based non-profit organization, the Volunteer Coordinator is an important position to ensure organizational growth.  We are looking for someone who is personable, organized, creative, and responsible. 
Work with volunteers

  1. Conduct outreach and recruit new volunteers to assist with store coverage and specific tasks and duties.
  2. Interview and check references for new volunteers.
  3. Provide orientation and ongoing training for store volunteers.  Promptly and tactfully address any problems that arise. Provide frequent positive feedback when things are going well.
  4. Manage the volunteer schedule to ensure store coverage.
  5. Use Signup Genius to provide information updates and to invite volunteers to sign up for open shifts.
  6. Implement good structure for volunteers to ensure volunteer empowerment and independence.
  7. Coordinate volunteer tasks and work assignments.
  8. Provide coverage at the store when volunteers cannot work.
Store merchandising and promotion
  1. Put together store displays and windows to drive sales.
  2. Train and recruit volunteers to assist with product displays.
