Description
Even after the First Folio! exhibition has closed, you can continue to enjoy early music at the National Music Museum. Join us for an extraordinary evening of Baroque masterpieces--the music of Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi, Schmelzer, and more--performed by acclaimed guest director/violinist/violist da spalla Sigiswald Kuijken and the Bach Society of Minnesota. Considered a musical giant, an early-music pioneer, innovative musician and musical philosopher, Kuijken has made historic contributions to the art of string-instrument playing--such as the technique of playing the violin "chin off" and the rediscovery of the viola da spalla. A lifelong performer, promoter and scholar of Bach, Kuijken has created groundbreaking recordings of the composer's cantatas and violin works. See the National Music Museum Events calendar for more information.
