Description
Join us at the Coyote Twin as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month with two FREE movies on the big screen sponsored by Vermillion Area Community Foundation and Clayton & Odessa Lang Ofstad Foundation.
MOVIE #1: Powwow Highway (1989)
Monday, November 2 | 7 p.m.
If you're a fan of Smoke Signals but haven't seen this classic road-trip dramedy, now is your chance! It's notoriously hard to find on physical media and streaming, so don't miss this opportunity to experience it in a theater with friends.
Starring A Martinez, Gary Farmer, and Amanda Wyss, Powwow Highway follows two Cheyenne friends on a road trip from Montana to New Mexico that blends humor, friendship, spirituality, and Native American identity.
MOVIE #2: Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016)
Monday, November 16 | 7 p.m.
From writer and director Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) comes this hilarious, heartfelt New Zealand adventure comedy.
When rebellious foster kid Ricky Baker finds himself living with his grumpy foster uncle Hec in the New Zealand countryside, things take an unexpected turn. Soon, the unlikely duo are on the run in the wilderness, sparking a nationwide manhunt. Can they survive the bush, the authorities, and each other?
Starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Rima Te Wiata, and Rachel House, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a funny and touching story about family, belonging, and finding your place in the world.
