Description
The second annual Vortex Film Festival kicks up dust at the Coyote Twin in downtown Vermillion Sept 26–28! We'll have 36 short films, 5 submitted features, and 2 marquee features on screen throughout the weekend. The new Black Sheep food truck will be on site Saturday & Sunday.
Our opening night marquee feature is Fall Is a Good Time to Die, directed by Dalton Coffey, is a Western crime drama filmed in South Dakota. A question & answer session with Coffey and a private reception at The W Social House will follow the screening. Saturday night, we have a five-year anniversary screening of the pandemic-set thriller Before the Fire by South Dakota daughter Charlie Buhler. Following the Q&A with Buhler, all festival guests are welcome to join us for a festival afterparty at XIX Brewing Co.
