Community Blood Bank to Host Three Blood Drives in September

Community Blood Bank is urging Vermillion area residents to roll up their sleeves this September, as blood supplies typically dip in the days following the Labor Day holiday weekend, a critical time when local hospitals, including Sanford Vermillion, depend on community donors to keep shelves stocked for patients in need.

To help meet this urgent demand, Community Blood Bank will host three blood drives throughout September, each designed to make it easy and meaningful for Vermillion residents to give the gift of life.

“Every donation stays close to home, directly supporting patients right here at Sanford Vermillion,” states Lauri Hoffmann, Program Coordinator, Community Blood Bank. “The days after Labor Day are historically one of the toughest stretches for blood supply, so we’re asking our community to step up and help us close that gap.”
