MASABA Opens New Fabrication, Office Facility in Vermillion

MASABA, Inc. is proud to announce the official grand opening of its new state-of-the-art steel and metal fabrication facility in Vermillion, South Dakota. The company will officially celebrate this occasion with an open house event on October 16, 2025, from 3-6 p.m., marking the completion of its major investment in its future, in American manufacturing, and in the local community.

The 147,500 square foot facility — located at 1400 317th St, Vermillion — is situated adjacent to MASABA’s existing plant, and includes 120,000 square feet of fabrication space plus 27,500 square feet dedicated to offices, conference rooms, break areas, and such employee amenities as a workout room. Production in the new building began in May 2025; the office area and employee spaces were completed in September this year.

“This project is about more than just expanding capacity,” says Jerad Higman, MASABA Founder and CEO. “It’s about creating opportunities for our team, strengthening Vermillion’s economy, and ensuring that MASABA continues to grow right here in South Dakota. We’re proud to invest in our people, our community, and in American manufacturing.”

The expansion has also enabled MASABA to repurpose areas in its original facility, adding additional welding and assembly bays to meet the increasing demand for its equipment. MASABA’s investment represents not only growth for the company, but also additional opportunities for local employment and long-term economic impact for Vermillion and the surrounding region. The October 16 Grand Opening event, which will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., will bring together team members, community members, and partners to celebrate this milestone achievement.
