Description
Held annually at Dalesburg Lutheran Church north of Vermillion, the Annual Midsommar at Dalesburg has been held for more than 150 years. This celebration of Scandinavian and immigrant heritage includes musical entertainment, a Scandinavian Smorgasbord and the raising of the Midsommar Pole. Activities start at 2 p.m. and the dinner is served 4:30-6:30 p.m. Admission: General activities and programming are free. There is a fee for the smorgasbord dinner.

3:30 pm - Jaerv & the Dalesburg Spelman
Jaerv and the Local Southeast South Dakota Scandinavian Group, playing folk music from the Nordic countries featuring fiddles, guitar, nyckelharpa (keyed harp), and other folk instruments and voice.
4:00 pm to 9:00 pm - Dalesburg Food Stand
Serving homemade pies, ice cream, cookies, Potatoes Korv, and Fruktsoppa

Tickets may be purchased at the door (no pre-sales). First come, first serve. Cash or check only.
7:00 pm - Jaerv, Raising of the Midsummer Pole
Ring dancing and Scandinavian music
Afternoon programs will be indoors. Evening program will be on the north lawn. All seating for meals will be outside. Covered seating available. Bring your own lawn chairs.
