Midwest Swing Dance Co. is excited to bring an in-depth beginner swing dance class to Vermillion! Our style is a simple, 4-count, 4-step East Coast variation—easy to learn and enjoyable for all. If you can count to four, you can dance!

Meet Your Instructors
💃 Courtney Johnson (Follow Instructor): Courtney has been dancing for 20 years, starting at Robin’s School of Dance and later leading her high school dance team. She’s been swing dancing since 2015 and enjoys helping others discover the joy of dance.
🕺 Marcus Johnson (Lead Instructor): Marcus, Courtney’s
husband and dance partner, learned swing dancing from Courtney in 2019. When he’s not dancing, he works at Schiebout Window and Door and enjoys woodworking.
Together, they focus on making swing dance approachable, enjoyable, and accessible to all skill levels.
What You’ll Learn
A four count, four step simplified east coast Lindy, how to lead and follow effectively, and a variety of turns, tricks, and dips to add style to your dancing
What to Wear & Bring
✨ Dress comfortably—semi-formal attire is encouraged but not required.
💦 Bring a refillable water bottle and a willingness to learn!
This class is open to all ages and experience levels—singles, couples, and groups are all welcome! A partner is helpful but not necessary; we rotate partners to ensure everyone has a chance to dance. Come ready to learn and enjoy a great evening—we look forward to dancing with you!
